The Magere Brug is the most famous bridge in Amsterdam. It is a bridge over the river Amstel. When first built in 1691, this bridge was very narrow. That is why the local people were calling it the skinny bridge. While the bridge is still referred to as Magere Brug, it's no longer skinny, as the original span was replaced with a wider bridge in 1871. Skinny Bridge, Amsterdam Pedestrians and bicycles can now cross the Amstel river with ease.
It is a beautiful bridge to see.
