The 534 meter long Schildergasse is one of Germanys biggest shopping streets and the second oldest street of Cologne.
On this street you will find international brands like Zara, Superdry or a newly opened Apple Store.

Schildergasse begins at the vivid Neumarkt and is a pedestrian zone so you can enjoy your shopping trip relaxed without disturbing cars. A big Kaufhof store is located at the end of the street. The display windows of Kaufhof are lovingly decorated during Christmas time and a highlight for the little ones.

Futhermore, the Weltstadthaus is situated in the middle of Schildergasse. It is a huge building made out of glass and wood. It shall remind of a ship but locals baptized it “Whale” because of its architecture.

If you need an energy kick whilst shopping, then visit the Café Riese at the beginning of Schildergasse. The traditional café offers great breakfast, coffee and cakes but also ice cream. Feeling really hungry? KittiChai is located on Krebsgasse close to Café Riese. Enjoy large portions of delicious Thai food at fair prices.
