Rio Maravilha

Bars/Lounges

Rio Maravilha is a Rooftop bar located on the 4th floor of a building in Lx Factory. Rio Maravilha has a beautiful view towards the Tagus River and the 25th April bridge, and you bet you can take amazing photos from here! The view is breathtaking, specially during the night where you can see the illuminated bridge right in front of you. The space inside is very peculiar and particular, full of vivid colors and vintage decoration. Rio Maravilha is perfect both for a sunny afternoon or for a cosy night time. Rio Maravilha is opened from Tuesday to Sunday (closes on Monday). Tuesday Wednesday and Thursdays from 12:30PM–2AM; Friday and Saturday: from 12:30 to 3AM; Sunday: 12:30–24:00. Lux Fragil

Clubs

Lux is one of Lisbon’s favorites and most famous clubs. Lux is where you’ll find the city’s hottest nights. Amazing DJ’s, unique dancefloors and a rooftop looking out the river are some of the features of this glamourous club. On weekends you’ll find a big line outside, and not everyone can make it inside – but it is worth it! Lux Frágil is the full name but everybody knows it only by Lux. Lux comes from the latin "light", and apart from the disco lights inside the best part of it is really the morning light that comes from the sunrise when the party is over. Yes, parties are good here and they will keep you awake until sunshine! My favourite part about Lux is definitely the balcony overlooking the river and the sunrise. Simply beautiful and perfect for a saturday night (or, in this case, morning).

Santo Amaro Docks (Docas de Santo Amaro)

Bars/Lounges

With a beautiful landscape towards the river, the 25 de Abril bridge and to Cristo Rei, Santo Amaro Docks is a great spot to start the night. Here you’ll find many restaurants and bars along the marina. This was once a group of old warehouses of the Port of Lisbon. Today, Santo Amaro Docks, located under the 25th April Bridge and a 30minutes walk from Belém, is one of the best places in town to go for an afternoon coffee, an evenight dinner and a night of dance. At Santa Amaro Docks you will find many options to choose from: fish restaurants, alternative bars, clubs with all kinds of music and for all ages. Santo Amaro Docks is easily accessible by taking the train from Cais do Sodré and stoping at Alcântara-Mar: this journey will take around 4 minutes and - if you are brave enough - you can even go walking.

Pensão Amor

Bars/Lounges

Pensão Amor was once a brothel for prostitutes and sailors to meet up, today it is a bar. Pensão Amor is an 18th Century building decorated like a cabaret in red velvet and naughty details. You can visit the bar both during the day and during the night, and both during the week days and weekends - and the atmosphere will be completely different. During day time you can enjoy the peacefull and quiet area, take a look around at its amazing decoration and all its crafts, paintings, and details. There are several rooms, each one of them with a different decoration. During the night time it gets REALLY crowded and you can't really pay attention at the place itself, but there is usually live music or some kind of shows. Pensão Amor is a Bar that's part of Lisbon's history and probably the most iconic one.

Music Box

Clubs

Music Box is an Eclectic place full of music and art. From Jazz to Rock ‘n’ Roll, if you want to enjoy good music, then you’re in the right place. Music Box is located under a tunel at Pink Street - Cais do Sodré. At Music Box there are different themed nights: Erasmus night, Funk night, Noite de Príncipe, Baile Tropicante, R'n'B, and special concerts during the week. Music Box is really a place for everyone and everynight is completely different than the one before. Musicbox is quite a small club with only one dance floor and a main stage.

Pavilhão Chinês

Bars/Lounges

Pavilhão Chinês is a beautiful and unique museum-bar, home to several collections and millions of different and distinctive pieces. From all kinds of miniatures, paintings, ceramics, crafts, WWII helmets, toys, dolls... At Pavilhão Chinês you will find amazing and peculiar collections, all together in one place, divided by several rooms. At Pavilhão Chinês there's a room where you can smoke inside and play snooker, but in a place like this you will need time to sit down and enjoy the environment, to then take a walk around the bar - just as if it was a real museum. Pavilhão Chinês is one of my favourite places in Lisbon to go for a chat and a drink, mostly dued to its decoration and stories inside. Nevertheless, Pavilhão Chinês can be somewhat expensive.

Casa Independente

Bars/Lounges

Casa Independente is a bar and "petiscos" place where the environment is its best feature. Casa Independente displays a very unique place inside a whole building with several rooms, all of them with vintage and artsy decoration. Each room is different from the other one, and even the toilets look like pieces of art. At Casa Independente there is also a terrace, perfect for those warm days with some sofas outside. Some events and music concerts are held at Casa Independente. Because of its outside loung area and decoration, Casa Independente is, personally, one of my favourite places in Lisbon to relax and go for a chat and a drink during both afternoon or evening.

K Urban Beach

Clubs

Urban Beach is a club for mostly Pop, R&B and EDM lovers, this is a beautiful club looking out the river and the closest place to the beach you can get to in the city center. K Urban Beach - widely known as Urban - is not close to a beach but it has the atmosphere and the decoration to make it look like one. The decoration is beautiful and the environment is chilled out, from 8pm to midnight; at midnight the party starts! Young and Erasmus people usually gather here for an unforgettable night. Urban Beach reopened 31st January, after being closed for some months; since then, some things have changed, but Urban Club is mostly still the same. Urban is the perfect place for a fun night out, with pop and commercial music, where you can sing, dance and - lets be honest here - flirt. Urban beach is full of youngsters and the dress code is not extremely elegant but you should wear nice clothes - don't bring your ripped trousers!

Bairro Alto

Bars/Lounges

Bairro Alto, this old neighborhood is one of the pearls and one of the most emblematic symbols for the local residents, specially during the night. In fact, Bairro Alto completely changes from day to night: the empty and typical streets get crowded and animated during the night; The hundreds of pubs start playing music and people from all over the world get to join. The bars are so many and so small that everybody has to come outside to enjoy their drinks, making it look like a street party. Bairro Alto is a traditional and avant-guarde place, a combination that you can’t miss when visiting Lisbon.

A Ginjinha

Bars/Lounges

Have you ever tried Ginjinha? No? Then what are you waiting for? Ginjinha is the typical drink of Lisbon, Alcobaça and Óbidos and it is possibly the favourite drink of Portuguese people! It is a liqueur made of sour cherries (ginja), aguardente - alcoholic drink - and sugar. Ginjinha is usually served in a shot glass and you can opt for having it with the fruit in the bottom. Trust us, it is delicious! A Ginjinha is one of the several places where you can have this drink in Lisbon, so what makes it so special? A Ginjinha Espinheira has been produced and sold here for over a century by Francisco Espinheira & Cª Lda. At A Ginjinha you can have a shot or buy the whole bottle - A Ginjinha Espinheira. Cheers! A Ginjinha is inserted in the category "nightlife" because we consider it a bar, but it is also open during the day time.

Bars/Lounges

Topo means “Top”. This bar is located at the top of Mouraria’s shopping mall, therefore the name Topo Bar. Just get in the elevator and go up until the 6th floor. There you’ll reach this bar with a beautiful view towards the S. Jorge Castle, while you can sit outside and enjoy the sun having a drink at Topo Bar. Topo Bar is widely known for its superb cocktails, and there is even a Restaurant dedicated to Asian and Vegetarian Gastronomy.
