Markets / Specialties
The market hall in the viaduct is, as the name suggests, a market in a hall. It is a paradise for anyone who appreciates good quality food. Among other things you will find in the market hall crisp, fresh vegetables, sweet fruit from all over the world, crispy bread, tender meat, various cheeses and excellent teas and wines. Most of the products come from local farmers, Becker and butchers, who attach great importance to organic quality. What I personally always like very much is that you can try a small treat at many stands directly on site, which makes the decisions easier.
In addition to food, you will also find flowers and the most important non-food items in the market hall (but mostly related to food).
What the market hall still toads is the same restaurant where you can taste the excellent products directly live in a freshly cooked menu. The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a coffee or snack for between.
The Restaurant Markthalle I also like to recommend as a place to enjoy a romantic evening for two. After dinner you can then treat yourself to a drink at the bar.
The Markthalle is located near Escherwyssplatz and can be reached by a 5-minute train ride plus a 5-minute walk.
The Market hall has opened from Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 8 pm.

The offer is usually very high quality and is well maintained and presented well presented. The flea market takes place from May to October, regularly on Saturday from 7am to 5pm.

The viaduct is a very special "shopping street", which is located under the 1894 built railway bridge. The 500-meter length houses various, colorful and unique shops that can not be found anywhere else in Zurich. In addition to fashion stores you will also find various sports labels, "all kinds of shops" and some coffees and restaurants. The highlight of the viaduct, however, is certainly the big market hall, where you can find fresh, mostly regional products of the highest quality. From meat, bread, vegetables over flowers, tea and wines you will find everything the gourmet's heart desires.
One of the arches (Bogen F) in the viaduct can be rented as a private person or as a company for private events such as birthdays or weddings for up to 200 people. The restaurant Viadukt professionally takes care of the catering of the guests. Next you can rent the bow 10 and 16 for smaller events with up to 60 or 40 people. If you are interested, it is best to look quickly at the website (https://www.im-viadukt.ch/de/informationen/ihr-anlass/).
The viaduct is located near Hardbrücke and can be reached quickly from Zurich main station with a 5-minute train ride + a 5-minute walk.
The shops in the viaduct are open from Monday to Friday from 11am to 7pm and Saturday from 10am to 6pm.
Of course the restaurants are open longer (23, 24 o'clock). The restaurant Viadukt as well as the coffee / bar Ambrosi are also open on Sundays.
