The Great Synagogue is the second largest synagogue in the world (only the Temple Emanu-el jewish house of worship in New York is bigger) that features Moorish styled architecture with intricate brickwork, twin towers topped with onion domes and a large rose stained-glass window sitting above the main entrance. The Dohany street, the Great Synanogue and the Jewish Museum are located in the same building.

The complex also has The Raoul Wallenberg Memorial Park, with the Memorial of the Hungarian Jewish Martyrs made by Imre Varga. A silver sculpture that resembles a weeping willow, whose leaves bear the names of 400,000 Hungarian Jews who were victims of the Holocaust era.

I would highly recommend to visit the Dohány street Synagogue once you are in Budapest.

Lets see some interesting facts about the Great Synagogue:
1. The twin towers shine in their original glory after the restauration that took place in the late '90s.
2. The clocks on top of the Dohany Synagogue don't work.
3. The twin-toweredbuilding is more than 150 year old.
