The City Hall is the headquarters of the parliament and the Senate (state government) of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
The architecturally magnificent building on the Inner Alster was built in 1897 by various builders in the historicist Neo-Renaissance style. The tower has a height of 112 m and is thus a prominent landmark in the city.
When visiting the City Hall it is worth participating in a guided tour. They take place every 30 minutes every day (in winter every hour), tours in english and french upon request and a needed. The tour gives you a special insight into this beautiful and impressive building.
