Oldest covered wooden bridge in Europe (built in 1365). The Chapel Bridge not only marked the outer end of the city when it was constructed, but also served as protection against attacks from the lake. In 1993, the bridge fell victim to a fire. This destroyed the whole bridge except the two ends and 70 of the 111 murals. Although copies of the destroyed images exist, the people from Lucern decided after construction to not assemble them again.
