The Vienna State Opera, the "First House at the Ring", is one of the most famous opera houses in the world. It was opened on May 25, 1869 by a premiere of Don Giovanni by Mozart. The charm of that time is beautifully preserved and is the right address for opera fans.

In the internationally largest repertoire of the Vienna State Opera, a very diverse program, especially opera and ballet is offered. The annual Opera Ball, with around 5,000 guests, is Austria's largest meeting place for cultural creators, entrepreneurs and politicians from Germany and abroad.

Another highlight of the Vienna State Opera is the "Opera live on the square". Here you have the opportunity to see more than 80 opera and ballet performances live on Herbert von Karajan Square from April to June and from September to December. The performances will be broadcasted on a 50m2 screen directly in front of the State Opera. The best - all at free admission!
